Top 5 Reasons to Join The Town
Whether it is caring for children in crisis, treating complex medical issues or helping families find the parenting resources they need, there are many reasons to feel good about your monthly donation to Boys Town.
Here are just some of the areas where your monthly support can have a BIG impact.
1. Every month you’ll know you’re providing a safe and stable environment for kids who have suffered from abuse and neglect. When children arrive at Boys Town, 80% are behind in school and stuggling with significant behavioral challenges. However, 97% of Boys Town students graduate or continue their education after leaving Boys Town.
2. On average, the Boys Town National Hotline answers over 10,000 calls, emails and texts from kids in crisis across the country every year. The Hotline is open and available 24/7/365, giving teens and adolescents a place for support in their moments of most desperate need.
3. Many people know Boys Town for our residential care, founded by Father Flanagan over 100 years ago to help children with nowhere else to go. But did you know that Boys Town has expanded to offer a wide range of holistic, preventative, and research-based mental and behavioral health programs? Our programs and services touch the lives of hundreds of thousands of children and families across America each year.
4. Since its founding in 1977, Boys Town National Research Hospital has been at the forefront of addressing communication disorders in children. Today, the hospital has grown to offer comprehensive and innovative care in many areas of pediatric specialty care - diagnosing, treating and providing care for kids with complex health issues, neurological disorders, and rare diseases.
5. Research is at the heart of everything we do. Today, our research scientists are leading the charge in neurobehavioral and communication research - leading to improvements in interventions and treatments for children with severe behavioral health problems or communication disorders. Our research findings have been disseminated across the country and around the world to help more programs improve their clinical outcomes and patient care.
