Boys Town's founder, Father Edward J. Flanagan believed that all children had a right to be valued, protected, and to have their basic needs met. In 1917, he opened Father Flanagan's Boys Home℠, which later became Boys Town. All boys, regardless of their race, creed or cultural background were welcomed to live, go to school, learn valuable skills and get a chance to succeed.
Today, Boys Town is one of the largest nonprofit child and family care organizations in the country. We are on a mission to change the way America cares for children by providing a broad spectrum of child and family services, community programs, and crisis services. We also conduct cutting-edge research on child behavior issues, rare diseases, and communication disorders.
Each year, Boys Town youth, family, community and health care programs touch the lives of more than 3 million people across the country. Today, with your help, we continue Father Flanagan's mission of saving children and healing families.
Joni once faced the reality of losing her son if things didn't change. Boys Town was there to serve as a catalyst for that positive change in their lives.
