Gabor Memorial Swing on Family Home Campus

In the spirit of giving and the power of family legacy, Boys Town is honored to share a touching story of commitment, compassion and generosity that spans across generations.

Lisa Chase, the dedicated Chair of our Board, found her way to Boys Town 30 years ago through the deeply ingrained commitment of her father, Jeffrey Alan Gabor. A passionate advocate for our mission, Mr. Gabor was not only an ardent supporter, but also a cherished donor, contributing significantly to the betterment of our Boys Town community in Tallahassee.

Recently, on the anniversary of Mr. Gabor's passing, Lisa's daughter reached out to us with a heartfelt idea. In a beautiful tribute to her grandfather's legacy, she, along with Lisa's siblings, wanted to surprise their mother by gifting Boys Town with a special addition to our campus -- a swing.

The swing, perched on the hill overlooking our Boys Town campus, has become a cherished spot for our youth. It symbolizes more than just a play area; it represents a space where our children experience the simple joys of childhood, the warmth of community and the promise of a brighter future.

The thoughtful gesture not only commemorates Mr. Gabor's memory but also contributes to the well-being and happiness of the Boys Town youth. The swing serves as a reminder that love, compassion, and support can create lasting impact and positive change in the lives of those we care for.

At Boys Town, we are privileged to witness and share stories of such remarkable generosity and intergenerational commitment. It is a testament to the enduring impact that philanthropy can have, creating ripples of positive change that resonate for years to come.

As we express our heartfelt gratitude to the Gabor family, we also extend our appreciation to all our donors, who, through their unwavering support, continue to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our Boys Town community.
