Volunteer Appreciation Lunch

Boys Town North Florida Honors Volunteers

Boys Town North Florida celebrated the dedication and commitment of its volunteers at the First Annual Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon on April 13th. Held at the ART Town facility, the event was a heartfelt gesture to recognize the invaluable contributions of volunteers to the organization.

Guests at the luncheon included a variety of volunteers, such as garden volunteers, mentors and even the handler of Gracie, the beloved animal therapy dog. Boys Town youth took on the role of hosts, serving lemonade, water and tea to the attendees. A slideshow showcasing volunteer projects played in the background, highlighting the impact of their efforts.

During the event, Boys Town youth presented certificates of appreciation to both new and longstanding volunteers. Additionally, each volunteer received a “goodie bag” filled with Boys Town merchandise as a token of gratitude. Before departing, guests were handed specially crafted thank-you cards designed by the youth themselves.

Ellyn Scanlan, Volunteer Coordinator at Boys Town North Florida, expressed her appreciation, stating, “Volunteers give their time and talent to Boys Town. It was time to give something back to them.”

The efforts of these dedicated volunteers have not gone unnoticed. Collectively, they have contributed over 900 hours of service, saving Boys Town approximately $30,000 in labor costs. Their selfless contributions play a vital role in supporting Boys Town's mission and making a positive impact on the lives of the youth it serves.
