Boys Town North Florida Honors Volunteers

On April 17, Boys Town North Florida honored its volunteers by hosting its second annual Volunteer Appreciation Reception. The volunteers were recognized for giving over 900 hours of service to the agency.

Guests included garden volunteers and the handler of Birdie, our animal therapy dog. Birdie’s guest appearance was a well-received addition to the event. Held at the ART Town facility, Boys Town youth served light refreshments and passed out certificates of appreciation to volunteers both new and old. Goodie bags filled with Boys Town merchandise were distributed as an added thank you.

Boys Town volunteers were treated to a slideshow highlighting the service projects and programs for the year, including academic mentoring, gardening, animal therapy, foster care events and the Fall Festival. Before leaving, guests were given homemade thank you cards, thoughtfully created by Boys Town North Florida youth.

Ellyn Scanlan, volunteer coordinator said, “I was so happy we could give back to our volunteers. They enhance our program and deserve special recognition.”
