Boys Town North Florida Brings Back the Annual BBQ Smoke Off Competition

The best of Tallahassee’s barbecue talent and community spirit was proudly displayed at the recent Boys Town BBQ Smoke Off Competition. The competition, that originated in 2005, had not been held since 2019 and the community was excited and ready for its highly anticipated return. Despite facing the aftermath of a tornado that occurred the morning before the competition, turnout for the event was remarkable, underscoring the resilience and dedication of both participants and attendees.

The atmosphere was buzzing with the sounds of live music and the irresistible aroma of mouthwatering BBQ, created a festive ambiance of fun and camaraderie. Renowned judges from Tallahassee's vibrant restaurant community lent their expertise to the event, ensuring a fair and competitive judging process for all the participants.

What truly made the event special was the presence and joy of the kids from Boys Town's Family Home and Foster Family Services Programs. Their enthusiastic participation and radiant smiles added an extra layer of warmth and meaning to the occasion, highlighting the impact of community support and engagement on their lives.

Reflecting on the success of the event, Boys Town North Florida expressed gratitude to everyone who contributed to its realization, emphasizing the importance of such gatherings in fostering a sense of belonging and creating lasting memories for all involved. Moments like these serve as powerful reminders of the organization's mission and the profound impact it has on the lives of children and families in the community.
