On Thursday, August 28, Boys Town New England welcomed a group of enthusiastic volunteers from Salve Regina University to its Portsmouth, RI campus for an afternoon of service and connection. Students joined the Boys Town team and children living on campus to roll up their sleeves, clear brush and branches, and take part in painting and landscaping projects that refreshed the grounds and brightened the community spaces.
This partnership highlights the strong bonds between local students and Boys Town New England, creating opportunities for service that go beyond simple campus improvements. As the students worked side by side with staff and children, they not only helped beautify the grounds but also demonstrated the power of community support and collaboration.
“We are so grateful to the Salve Regina students for dedicating their time and energy to our campus,” said Glenn Hofmann, Director of Development at Boys Town New England. “Their efforts make an immediate difference in the daily lives of our community here, and their commitment reminds us that our work is truly a shared mission.”
The day wrapped up with smiles, laughter, and new connections forged between the university volunteers and the Boys Town community. With every project, the students left a lasting mark that will continue to be felt by the children who call Boys Town New England home.
