When Angel Vazquez was released from incarceration after three and a half years for assault of a police officer, firearm possession and drug‑related charges, he faced the overwhelming reality that his two young daughters had been removed from their mother due to neglect. Still on probation and working to rebuild his life, Angel made a commitment: he wanted to become the stable, safe and present father his children deserved.
In August 2025, Angel was referred to the Boys Town In‑Home Family Services Reunification Program, where he began working with consultant Michael Robinson. At the time, Angel was navigating significant barriers -- unresolved court fines preventing him from reinstating his driver’s license, limited income, lack of essential resources and the emotional impact of his children’s recent loss of their grandmother. He needed support not only to meet DCYF expectations, but to build a home environment where his daughters, both under age three, could thrive.
Michael partnered with Angel through weekly in‑home visits, focusing on practical parenting skills, emotional attunement and consistent routines that would help the girls feel safe and supported. Together, they tackled immediate needs such as securing health insurance, WIC, SNAP, clothing and diaper resources. Michael also coached Angel through job searching, budgeting and long‑term planning so he could maintain stability while prioritizing reunification.
Throughout the case, Angel demonstrated unwavering commitment. He consistently put his daughters’ needs first, even when it meant risking his employment to ensure they were cared for. As he practiced Boys Town’s evidence‑based parenting strategies, Angel grew more confident in recognizing his daughters’ behaviors, teaching replacement skills and responding calmly and effectively. His progress was clear not only to Boys Town, but to DCYF and the court system overseeing his probation.
By December 2025, just before Christmas, Angel achieved full reunification with his daughters. Over the following months, he maintained stability, continued using the skills he learned, and built a nurturing home environment. On April 28, 2026, the Vazquez family successfully completed the program and their case was closed, marking a powerful milestone in Angel’s journey from incarceration to responsible, engaged fatherhood.
Today, Angel remains a model of resilience and transformation. With Boys Town’s support and Michael Robinson’s guidance, he overcame criminal‑justice barriers, rebuilt his life and created a safe, loving home where his daughters can grow and thrive.
