On Sunday morning, October 8, Boys Town New England employees and volunteers from Portsmouth High School’s Boys and Girls Soccer Teams represented Boys Town New England at the annual Amica Newport Marathon.
Boys Town New England was chosen by Gray Matter Marketing as one of five local non-profits to receive a donation from the proceeds of this year's event.
“Being a part of the Amica Newport Marathon is a great experience," said Glenn Hofmann, Boys Town New England's Development Director. “The Portsmouth High School soccer teams and our staff members did such a good job of representing Boys Town and their school, showing enthusiastic support for the runners. We appreciated the opportunity the marathon provided for us to educate the event volunteers and participants about Boys Town, and I can't thank Gray Matter Marketing enough for selecting Boys Town as one of the designated charities."
The group started in the pre-dawn hours at the Registration tent and then proceeded to distributing medals, food and drinks to all the finishers. Boasting one of the most scenic routes, the Amica Newport Marathon features both a 13.1 mile half-marathon and a 26.2 mile full-marathon course
