Boys Town Nebraska hosted its third annual Ames Avenue Block Party on Friday, May 20, 2016.

Around 800 members of the Omaha community took advantage of the great weather and spent the afternoon enjoying bounces houses, face painting, carnival games and much more. A highlight of the event was the performance by the Mt. Calvary Community Church drill team.

“The Block Party is a great opportunity to engage the community and support Harmony Week. It’s an important part of growing Boys Town’s presence in the community and becoming a trusted resource for families,” said Nick Juliano, Senior Director, Community Impact.

Boys Town employees were on-hand to volunteer and work booths offering information on Boys Town services to attendees. The event sponsors and volunteers included Boys Town, Heartland Workforce Solutions, First National Bank of Omaha, Hy-Vee and Centris Federal Credit Union. This year more than 20 agencies registered as vendors for the event.

Since its opening in 2013, the Boys Town Ames Avenue location has served 400 families and more than 1,000 children through In-Home Family Services, Nebraska Family Helpline, Common Sense Parenting® classes, Boys Town National Hotline®, YourLifeYourVoice.org, and Family Visitation Rooms.
