Letterbox Club Helps Youth in Foster Care Feel at Home

For the fifth year in a row, Boys Town Foster Family Services is collaborating with the Boys Town Research department and the University of Nebraska – Lincoln to help support The Letterbox Club. The program, which originated in the United Kingdom, sends books, art supplies, and a letter to each child monthly. The local chapter is hosted by UNL’s faculty and staff, which will sponsor 20 children in the Boys Town Foster Care Program this year.

Matthew Priest, Director of Foster Family Services at Boys Town Nebraska says, “This project is such a fantastic way for children in the foster care system to gain a sense of belonging and self-worth by having personal items and mail to call their very own. We look forward to this project every year and more importantly, our children love it!”
