Go Big Give

Boys Town is excited to participate in Go Big Give May 3! We are fundraising to remodel our kitchen. After 27 years of daily use and provided a half million meals, it's in desperate need of a renovation.

Just like any home, the kitchen is truly the heart of our home where bodies, minds, and spirits are nourished. Kids who come to the shelter learn important skills that are essential in helping to mold their future as adults and learning skills in the kitchen setting is one important way to do that. You can schedule your gift and help with this project!

As one mother said, "My son was having a hard time dealing with emotions and boundaries regarding rules and expectations in our house. It led to him causing physical harm to me after many instances of verbal altercations. He was placed at the Boys Town Shelter. It was there that he learned skills on how to control his anger and emotions and how to stop and think before he reacted. It gave our family the break that we needed to heal and start learning some new skills. Most importantly, Boys Town taught him some life skills that he brought home and continues to use. One important change that we have implemented is a family planning time each week. We sit down and write out the chores for the week. These chores include each member of the family having a day to cook. Prior to his stay at Boys Town, I was doing all of the cooking and cleaning."

We ask for your support in helping us return the heart of our home to a safe, comfortable, and caring environment where the youth in our community who need our services can continue to nourish their body, minds and spirits.

During Go Big Give, there are many prizes that will be awarded to nonprofits. We are really excited about the Match Minute, which from 5:50 – 5:55 p.m., the first $100 of every donor gift will be matched. Schedule your gift for this time starting April 26!

Thank you for your help and support with this project!
