Teaching Love may sound simple, but it permeates everything we do, and it starts at home with families. When parents are faced with big problems (i.e. unemployment, mental health, financial troubles, addiction, lack of self-control) the whole family is affected, especially the children. And if the big problems don’t get addressed right away, they can lead to child abuse, neglect, and the family unit can be broken.
Boys Town South Florida is here to help children and families prevent problems from escalating through counseling, skills building and education programs. Teaching love through our thoughts, words and actions reflect in all we do, and these simple but grand gestures, can empower families to positively raise the future generation.
How does Boys Town Teach Love?
Boys Town Education-Model is an evidence-based inclusionary approach that helps families address youth concerns in an empathetic and positive way. With your support:
- Parents and children receive in-home, family-centered case management services to help them navigate through complex systems to keep children safe and the family unit intact.
- Children/Teens/Young Adults and families can get access to therapy to learn ways to overcome behavioral struggles and mental health challenges.
- Parents get the opportunity to participate in evidence-based parenting training to help address child/youth misbehaviors.
- Families learn skills and resources to know how to set healthy routines and a positive discipline approach right in their homes.
- At-risk students learn social emotional skills to be ready to learn.
Join our Teach Love campaign from November 18th through December 31st! Together, we can make a positive difference in the lives of children and families, enabling them to build a brighter future so they can build a brighter future.
