For 35 years, Boys Town South Florida has remained committed to strengthening families and uplifting our community. We invite you to attend our 2026 Community Action Summit on Thursday, October 8th, 2026, from 11:30 AM – 1:30 PM at Benvenuto Restaurant.
This year’s Community Action Summit will provide a platform for behavioral and mental health experts to share concerns and researched data related to technology usage among youth as well as ways to equip families with effective approaches to help youth make better choices when it comes to screen time. With the expansion of the digital space, and lack of regulation, there is a growing concern related to social media apps and digital games becoming more addictive. This leads to youth (and adults) chronic consumption of screen time, often including short form and inappropriate content that can result in lower social and emotional skills, lower cognitive ability, lack of concentration, less human connection and potential long term consequences to how youth relate to others.
