Boys Town North Florida is celebrating a remarkable season of generosity, thanks to a partnership with Tallahassee Ford that continues to change lives in meaningful and memorable ways.
In December, Tallahassee Ford surprised every child in Boys Town’s two residential foster care programs, Foster Family Services and the Family Home Program, with a brand-new bicycle.
The Ford team carefully selected a bike for each child, ensuring the perfect fit for ages ranging from 5 to 17. They didn’t stop there. The Tallahassee Ford staff spent hours assembling all 41 bikes themselves and then arrived on campus on a Saturday to personally deliver them to the youth.
Joy filled the air the moment the bikes rolled onto campus. For many children, it was the first bike they had ever owned. One youth, age 11, said excitedly, “I’ve wanted this my whole life!” Laughter echoed across the grounds as the youth took their first rides, and the campus continues to buzz with energy as they enjoy their new wheels.
Tallahassee Ford’s generosity didn’t end with the bikes.
Shortly after the delivery, Bill McKinney, owner of Tallahassee Ford, reached out with more exciting news. He wanted to treat Boys Town’s Family Home Program to a night at the Harlem Globetrotters’ 100th Anniversary Tour. Thanks to his enthusiasm and support, 25 youth and their Family Teachers attended the event, filling an entire section of the arena as one united Boys Town family.
The evening was nothing short of magical. Boys Town North Florida received a special shoutout from the announcers and, after the game, the Harlem Globetrotters met with the youth and signed autographs. For many of the youth, it was their first time attending this kind of live performance and their excitement was unforgettable.
These moments of joy and connection with the community were made possible by Tallahassee Ford’s commitment to the children and families we serve. Their partnership reflects the very best of community support: thoughtful, hands-on and deeply invested in giving kids the chance to feel valued.
