Boys Town New England: WPRI News Interview

In the wake of the tragic school shooting in Minnesota, Riley Huntington, Director of Foster Family Services at Boys Town New England, joined WPRI12 to share guidance for parents.

Keep routines steady, offer reassurance, limit repeated exposure to the news, and model calm yourself. If you notice changes in their sleep, appetite, or mood that last more than two weeks, it may be time to reach out for help. It’s important to let your kids know it’s okay to feel upset or scared and give them space to talk when they’re ready.

If you or your child are seeking coping tools or immediate confidential support here are some Boys Town resources:
Call Boys Town National Hotline: 800-448-3000
Text: VOICE to 20121 (for preteens, teens, and young adults)
