LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — A new local holiday is recognizing the need for youth care in the valley.
Mayor Goodman joined City Council in announcing June 21 as Boys Town Nevada Day.
Boys Town Nevada's Executive Director, John Etzell, spoke at the City Council meeting on Wednesday to accept the nonprofit's Certificate of Recognition and Proclamation.
The organization was highlighted for its 32 years of service in providing child and family care for those in need.
Over the last year, the nonprofit has served over 5,000 children and impacted more than 49,000.
