Graduation is always worth celebrating, and recently we had the chance to recognize four moms of babies and toddlers in our Early Head Start program who completed the Successful Futures Advanced Life Skills Series.
Over several weeks, participants worked on practical skills including financial literacy, task management, interviewing, self-advocacy and career planning. The course culminated in public presentations where the parents shared their most valuable takeaways and future plans.
“One of the biggest highlights from the graduation was hearing participants reflect on how they had grown throughout the Advanced Life Skills Series,” said Semaj Douglas, Successful Futures Specialist. “The graduates left the program feeling empowered, optimistic and ready to take the next steps toward success.”
All four graduates have now moved into Phase 2 of the program, where they will continue working toward the goals they developed during the series with ongoing support from the Successful Futures team.
Graduation was a chance to celebrate how far these moms have come and what they are working toward next.
