Amanda R. Anderson, Psy.D., Clinic Director
Dr. Amanda Anderson is a licensed psychologist with training and experience in cognitive-behavioral therapy, parent-child interaction therapy, and behavioral pediatrics. She also has experience utilizing skills informed by dialectical behavior therapy. Dr. Anderson earned her bachelor's, master’s, and doctoral degrees from Florida Institute of Technology in Melbourne, Florida. Her clinical practica included work in community mental health clinics, schools, and a psychiatric hospital. Dr. Anderson completed her pre-doctoral internship at Boys Town Behavioral Health Clinic in Grand Island, Nebraska. Additionally, she completed a two-year, post-doctoral fellowship at Boys Town Center for Behavioral Health in Boys Town, Nebraska.
Dr. Anderson’s professional interests include anxiety and mood disorders, disruptive behavior disorders, and integrating aspects of faith and culture into clinical practice for interested families. She also provides community training and education on behavioral health issues, and collaborates with pediatricians, teachers, and other adult caregivers to ensure a continuity of service and care. Dr. Anderson is a native Floridian from Miami. For recreation, Dr. Anderson enjoys exploring antique shops, cruising, and trying out new restaurants.
Joe Clemens, Psy.D., Staff Psychologist
Dr. Joe Clemens has 20 years of experience in the mental health field.
He is a licensed psychologist who specializes in the treatment of adolescents, college students and young adults. Prior to his position at Boys Town, Dr. Clemens worked at a community mental health center as a Staff Psychologist and Internship Coordinator. He has spent the past several years supervising Master’s and Doctoral students and was a Graduate Faculty Scholar for the University of Central Florida’s Doctoral Program in Clinical Psychology as well as being an Affiliate Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Central Florida’s College of Medicine. Dr. Clemens also maintained a small private practice and served as a Consulting Clinical Psychologist for a juvenile justice program.
Dr. Clemens was trained in the Scientist-Practitioner model applying evidence-based treatment and received his Master’s Degree and Doctoral Degree in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University New England. He utilizes an Integrative approach to treatment while focusing on cognitive-behavioral, mindfulness training, and acceptance commitment therapy. For recreation, Dr. Clemens enjoys soccer, Notre Dame Football, snorkeling and scuba diving.
Anhthony V. Nguyen, Psy.D., Staff Psychologist
Dr. Anhthony V. Nguyen, Psy.D., is a licensed psychologist (PY8804) with training and experience in brief therapy, clinical behavior analysis, and behavioral pediatrics. Dr. Nguyen (“new-WIN”) earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Florida, and his master’s and doctoral degrees from Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio, with practica in hospitals and schools. His postdoctoral residency specialized in evidence-based interventions for children and their families addressing ADHD, ODD (defiant behaviors and difficulty following directions), bedwetting, sleep issues, picky eating, homework problems, fears/anxieties, and habits/tics. Dr. Nguyen operated his own practice in Fort Myers and worked for Boys Town South Florida in West Palm Beach before transferring here to join our clinical staff.
Dr. Nguyen’s professional interests include behavioral therapy and training the people who are closest to the children and families to be the primary agents of change. He also works collaboratively with other professionals and uses a multi-disciplinary approach to ensure the best possible outcome for treatment. In his free time, he enjoys watching Orlando Magic basketball, fitness and nutrition, playing guitar, performing magic, and spending time with his wife and dog named Max.
Katrina Stone, Ph.D., Staff Psychologist
Dr. Katrina Stone is a licensed psychologist with a focus on comprehensive psychoeducational and psychological evaluations. Common referral concerns include ADHD, autism, anxiety, depression and learning disabilities. She also provides counseling services to children and families looking to solve common behavioral difficulties, improve relationships and better manage difficulties with anxiety or mood. Her approach to counseling is informed by an integrative approach and may include elements of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, as well as behavioral problem solving.
Dr. Stone earned her master's and doctoral degrees from the University of Florida in school psychology with a specialization in early childhood. She has experience in early intervention, clinical and school settings. Prior to earning her graduate degree, she worked as an elementary school teacher. Dr. Stone is passionate about using her background in education and psychology to help children get the support they need at home and school. She considers it a priority to provide services in a comfortable and collaborative environment.
Daymarie Rivera, Post-Doctoral Fellow
Dr. Daymarie Rivera is a Clinical Psychology Post-Doctoral Fellow with training and experience in comprehensive psychoeducational and psychological evaluations, as well as psychotherapy across the lifespan. Dr. Rivera is originally from Puerto Rico where she earned her bachelor’s degree from Inter American University in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico and doctoral degree from Ponce Health Sciences University in Ponce, Puerto Rico. Her clinical experience includes working in inpatient psychiatric hospital, community mental health, integrated care and court-ordered intimate partner violence reeducation programs. Dr. Rivera completed her pre-doctoral internship with the National Psychology Training Consortium at Burrell Behavioral Health in Springfield, MO where she focused on the diagnosis and treatment of ADHD. This included parent management training and social skills training interventions. During her internship year, Dr. Rivera also provided diagnostic screenings for Autism Spectrum Disorder and was considerate of cultural diversity and language barriers in the mental health field.
Dr. Rivera provides individual and family therapy for children, adolescents and adults. She is a fully bilingual (Spanish and English) provider interested in expanding her knowledge and experience in the child and adolescent psychology field, focusing on child development, ADHD, disruptive behavior disorders, Autism Spectrum Disorder, cultural diversity and language. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, going on adventures and dancing.
Dr. Rivera is currently self-pay only and unable to accept insurance at this time.
Sophia Wright, Clinical Intern
Ms. Sophia Wright is a clinical intern passionate about providing evidence-based interventions through individual and family therapy. She is actively training in behavioral therapy and working with parents to provide effective parenting strategies. Her prior internship experience includes pediatric sleep addressing issues such as night terrors, irregular sleep/wake schedule and sleep-onset association. She earned her bachelor’s from the University of Central Florida where she continues her educational and clinical training in pursuit of a master’s in clinical psychology. Sophia aspires to become a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and continue to serve children, adolescents and families. In her free time, Sophia enjoys traveling, watching sunsets, working out and spending time with her family and friends.
