Meet Shayla, one of our Kinship Navigation Specialists who has been with Boys Town since February 2019.
Kinship Navigators implement the Boys Town Care Coordination model to connect kinship families to resources and develop their support system to maintain placement stability until a child returns to the care of their parents.
Shayla is great at going above and beyond for her families to ensure they have everything they need to care for the children placed with them. Shayla knows all the best community resources for families to get everything from clothes to food to beds. Shayla also is a great team player. She provides support to her fellow team members and is always willing to help when needed.
Some fun facts Shayla shared:
1) I love woodworking, crafting and antiques.
2) I have two beautiful grandchildren, Liam, who is almost three and Nevaeh, who is a year and a half old.
3) My best friend since childhood, Christy, lives eight hours away but we love our concerts and girls weekends together!
Shayla says what she enjoys most about her work with Boys Town is, “knowing that I am making a positive impact in the lives of each and every family I serve.”
