Oviedo, FL. – Boys Town Central Florida has received an award of $170,000 over a five-year period from the Community Foundation of Sarasota County Funding for the grant comes from the Walter Haskins Fund. Thanks to the generosity of CFSC and the Walter Haskins Fund, the grant will provide support for two Boys Town programs that help families in need of important services.
This funding will support Boys Town Central Florida In-Home Family Services (IHFS) and Common-Sense Parenting (CSP) classes in Central Florida. Through the program, Family Consultants work in the homes of families who are in or approaching crisis. They focus on preserving families, preventing children from being removed from their home, and safely reunifying children, who have been placed outside the home, with their families. These services strengthen families, address the underlying causes of crisis, and improve the social-emotional and academic development of vulnerable children.
“We are very grateful for the support of the Community Foundation of Sarasota County so that we may continue to provide services to families that need it most.,” said Laurie Stern, Boys Town Central Florida Executive Director. “This grant allows us to continue to expand our efforts to help families in need of important services.”
