Boys Town Central Florida recently celebrated its 40th Anniversary with the Building Brighter Futures Gala.
This milestone event brought together community leaders, sponsors and local advocates who shared a commitment to strengthening families and helping children reach their full potential throughout Central Florida through the impactful services at Boys Town.
The evening served as both a celebration of four decades of service and a reflection on the organization's ongoing mission to provide life-changing care, resources and support for children and families facing challenges. Guests enjoyed an inspiring program that highlighted Boys Town Central Florida's legacy of service and its vision for the future.
The event welcomed several distinguished guests, including members of the Oviedo Police Department, made possible through the support of Dave Axel of Axel Real Estate. Additional attendees included Oviedo Mayor Megan Sladek; Oviedo and Seminole County commissioners; Bryant Ortiz, Congressional Aide; and Matt Borgens, a Boys Town alumnus whose story reflects the lasting impact of the organization's mission.
A special highlight of the evening was the recognition of two outstanding community leaders, Commissioner Kerry S. Wiggins Sr., and John Curtin, whose dedication to service and support of the community exemplifies the values celebrated throughout the event.
Boys Town Central Florida extends its heartfelt gratitude to the many vendors, volunteers, sponsors and supporters whose contributions helped make the gala a success. As partnership plays a vital role in expanding services, strengthening families and creating brighter futures, it was incredible to see a broad group of individuals come together in support of the families served. Because of your generosity, we filled the room with people committed to making a difference for future generations, and together we raised $48,675 at the gala. In addition, the Demetree Foundation will match qualifying contributions from the event, bringing the total impact to $79,925.
As Boys Town Central Florida looks ahead to its next chapter, the organization remains committed to empowering children, supporting families and building stronger communities for generations to come.
“Thank you to the event sponsors,” said Desmond Crayton, Executive Director. “This community, and the awareness each of the partners tonight bring to the table, allow Boys Town programs to bring brighter futures to every child served.”
