Thanks to the generosity of Flamingo Gardens, families participating in Boys Town South Florida’s In-Home Family Services program spent a memorable summer day exploring nature, learning about local wildlife and creating lasting memories together.
For the past four years, Flamingo Gardens has donated one-day entry tickets to the families and children served in our In-Home Family Services program. Children eagerly fed ducks along the water and enjoyed exploring the gardens aboard scenic trolley rides.
As Veronica from our Broward office put it: “The best part was watching the children and parents enjoy the day.”
These outings are especially meaningful for families who may not otherwise have the opportunity to visit Flamingo Gardens due to financial barriers.
Family consultant Jane said, “several parents have shared they have lived in Broward County their entire lives and never had the opportunity to visit until now.” This statement reveals the importance of community partners working together to ensure children and families are uplifted.
Opportunities such as these provide families with the ability to create core memories while also appreciating the outdoors.
