Las Vegas Sight lit up in Green for Mental Health Awareness Month

Lighting Las Vegas Green for Mental Health

The iconic Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas sign lit up bright green on May 13th for Mental Health Awareness Month, bringing the community together in a powerful and uplifting way! Hosted by Clark County Commissioner Justin Jones, the ceremony honored Boys Town Nevada for more than 30 years of supporting children and families across Southern Nevada.

As the sign glowed, it served as a vibrant reminder that mental health matters and that taking action can change lives. Commissioner Jones shared the importance of ensuring everyone has access to care, while honoring Boys Town Nevada as a trusted source of hope and support in our community.

Executive Director John Etzell encouraged anyone struggling to reach out for help, especially in a state that ranks last in access to mental health resources. Moments like this highlight both the urgent need and the opportunity to come together.

Thanks to the generosity of our community, that difference is already being made. This celebration was made possible in part by the support of Brooklyn’s Best Pizza & Pasta, which hosted a fundraiser on May 7th for Children’s Mental Health Awareness Day, donating 20% of all proceeds to Boys Town Nevada’s mental health programs.

Over the past five years, Boys Town Nevada has reached more than 204,000 children and families through clinics, in-home services, parenting classes and school-based programs. Its 24/7 crisis hotline remains a vital resource, helping thousands in need.

Together, the community is shining a light on mental health and reminding everyone they are not alone.
