Boys Town Receives Community Ties Giving Grant from Union Pacific to Strengthen Safety and Support for Children and Families

Boys Town, Neb. (December 9, 2025) – Boys Town is honored to be among the 430 nonprofit organizations nationwide selected to receive a Community Ties Giving Grant from Union Pacific Railroad. Union Pacific is investing more than $4 million in nonprofit organizations that advance safety, workforce development, community vitality, and environmental sustainability across the communities it serves.

This grant will support Boys Town’s mission of creating safer, stronger, and more resilient futures for children and families. The funding will enhance programs that prioritize family stability, behavioral health, and community-based interventions, continuing Boys Town’s long-standing commitment to strengthening communities and providing critical care to those who need it most.

“We are grateful to Union Pacific for recognizing the importance of investing in children, families, and the communities that surround them,” said Robby Simard, Boys Town Executive Vice President of Youth Care. “Their support helps ensure that Boys Town can continue delivering high-quality, research-driven services that promote safety, well-being, and long-term success.”

Union Pacific’s Community Ties Giving Program provides grants ranging from $5,000 to $30,000 to local organizations across its 23-state network. Funding supports a broad range of projects, including youth development programs, public safety initiatives, job readiness training, and environmental sustainability efforts that directly benefit millions of residents in communities where Union Pacific employees live and work.

The Community Ties Giving Program opens for applications annually in April. More information about program eligibility and the application process can be found at up.com/CommunityTies.
