Message from Bethany Lacey, Executive Director

As a child, I had pretty average dreams. I dreamed of growing up, getting married and having a family that I could love and nurture. Today, I am grateful to say that I have been able to achieve that dream, though not without life's normal challenges and hardships. Many of the families we come in contact with at Boys Town share this same dream. Sadly, they don't have the same skills, resources or community support that many of us had. This desire for a healthy, happy family, universally shared by so many, is often derailed by unexpected obstacles and lack of support and resources. In Florida, our Hotline received over 1,000 contacts for families encountering crises, ranging from addiction to suicide to parenting struggles to being victims of sexual assault and more. Forty percent of those contacts dealt with a child or parent facing a mental health crisis. These are the kinds of challenges facing those we serve every day. And that's why Boys Town becomes a lifeline for families in need. We are a beacon of hope and a light to children and families who are in their darkest moments as they fight to keep their dreams alive. We need the continued support of people like you to come alongside us so we can serve those in need. We are grateful to be able to continue helping children and families – and because of your support, together, we can give them hope that dreams do come true!
