"I believe that before evidenced based treatments are utilized that it is important to develop a positive and trusting therapeutic relationship.
Therapy is most helpful when a child’s difficulties are understood, validated, and supported. I strive to recognize individual differences and guide the child and family toward living a life that is congruent with what they value most. I also coordinate care with each child’s primary care physician, as well as their teachers and other caregivers, providing an inclusive approach to ensure long-term success.
The goal of the first meeting is to gain an understanding of the child’s current concerns, how they are impacting the child’s daily life, while also gathering information about the child’s history."
