Shannon Brothers has been with Boys Town for over five years and has provided SafeCare services for the past four. Throughout her time in this role, she has been a consistent and reliable source of support for families, helping parents build confidence in their parenting skills, strengthen relationships with their children, improve home safety and better meet their children’s needs.
Shannon has a natural ability to connect with families, creating an environment where they feel comfortable learning, practicing new skills and making meaningful, lasting changes in their homes. The strength of these connections directly contributes to improved family outcomes and long-term program success.
Recently, Shannon successfully completed all the requirements to become a certified SafeCare Trainer -- an accomplishment that has had a significant impact on the program. This milestone allows Boys Town to train new staff internally, reducing reliance on outside providers and ensuring new team members are developed through the lens of both SafeCare and the Boys Town Model. Shannon has already trained four staff members and has done an excellent job stepping into this role. Her ability to provide thoughtful guidance, coaching and real-world insight enhances staff development, which in turn strengthens the quality and consistency of services delivered to families.
In addition to her direct work with families and her role as a trainer, Shannon’s willingness to support her peers has been a major driver of program success. She consistently steps in to assist with coverage needs, ensuring families continue to be seen without disruption. Her proactive approach and strong team-first mindset play a critical role in maintaining continuity of care, particularly during times of high demand or unexpected staffing gaps. Shannon does not limit her focus to her own caseload -- she actively seeks out opportunities to support others, helping ensure no families are missed and services remain timely and consistent.
This level of collaboration has strengthened overall team functioning and directly improved service delivery. Shannon’s support helps reduce delays, prevent missed appointments and ensure families receive the consistent engagement needed to make progress. Her reliability allows peers to feel supported and confident, knowing families will not fall through the cracks. She is also a trusted resource for her coworkers, always willing to answer questions, share knowledge and help solve problems, further enhancing team effectiveness.
Shannon’s commitment to families, her peers and the overall success of the program is evident in everything she does. Whether she is working directly with parents, training new staff, or stepping in to ensure families are seen, she brings a positive attitude and a strong sense of accountability. Her contributions not only improve individual family outcomes but also elevate the consistency, capacity and overall effectiveness of the program.
Ultimately, Shannon’s willingness to go above and beyond -- especially in supporting her peers and ensuring families are consistently served -- has had a meaningful and measurable impact on program success. She exemplifies the core values of Boys Town and plays a vital role in ensuring high-quality services are accessible, continuous and impactful for the families we serve.
