Boys Town DC Celebrates 30 Years!

Over the past three decades, Boys Town DC has provided a safe and stable foundation for thousands of young people in the DC area who have experienced hardship, trauma and adversity. The hallmark of our work has been our commitment to meeting the unique needs of each youth and family through holistic, research-driven programs and services. By providing a safe and nurturing environment for young people and equipping families with the tools they need to thrive, Boys Town has made a real and lasting difference.

Boys Town is not just a place – it is a philosophy. Our approach is based on the belief that every child is valuable, every child can achieve greatness and every child deserves to be treated with dignity and respect. This philosophy is as relevant today as it was 30 years ago, and serves as a powerful reminder that we all have a role to play in creating a better world for those in need.

As we celebrate this milestone, let us take a moment to honor the legacy of Boys Town Washington DC and those who have made possible the triumphant stories of overcoming that set us apart. Let us also reaffirm our commitment to supporting the next generation in our community, and ensuring that every child has the opportunity to reach their full potential.

In the words of our founder Father Edward J. Flanagan, “There are no bad boys. Only bad environment, bad training, bad example, bad thinking."  Let us work together to create an environment of love, support, and opportunity for all our village children, so that they may grow into the leaders and changemakers of tomorrow.
