Boys Town Neurology

Our Level 4 Epilepsy Center pairs clinical excellence with pioneering research. We see first-time seizure patients within one week. We perform complex surgeries that restore lives. And through our research program, what we learn travels far beyond our campus to benefit children everywhere.

Our Six Specialized Clinics

Comprehensive care — from the first seizure to the rarest disease.

Every child's neurological journey is different. That's why Boys Town Pediatric Neuroscience offers six highly specialized clinics — all under one roof.

Boys Town Pediatric Epilepsy Program provides state-of-the-art, life-changing care for pediatric patients affected by epilepsy – from newborns to teens. Our epilepsy center is designed for the care of complex epilepsies, and our providers have access to a number of tools and specialists to find individualized solutions that address the physiological, social and emotional needs of patients.

The day your child has their first seizure, the waiting shouldn't start. Our First-Time Seizure Clinic sees new patients within one week. Purpose-built for new-onset and undiagnosed seizures in infants, children, and teens.

For families navigating mystery illnesses and inherited neurological conditions, Boys Town National Research Hospital offers answers. Led by Dr. Isabella Herman, M.D., Ph.D., this clinic treats genetic epilepsy, leukodystrophies, lysosomal storage disorders, neuromuscular diseases, and dozens more rare conditions -- with genetic counselors on-site.

Our fellowship-trained neurosurgeons perform the full spectrum of pediatric brain and spine procedures -- from epilepsy surgery and tumor resection to hydrocephalus management, craniosynostosis, spina bifida, and vagal nerve stimulation. MEG-guided surgical planning delivers millimeter precision.

Chronic and complex pediatric headache -- including migraine -- requires dedicated expertise. Boys Town Hospital's headache specialists combine pharmacological treatment, lifestyle guidance, and behavioral health support to help children reclaim days lost to debilitating pain.

The foundation of Boys Town Hospital's neuroscience program: comprehensive neurology care for conditions of the brain, spinal cord, muscles, and nerves -- from birth through adolescence. Board-certified, fellowship-trained neurologists with access to the full diagnostic and imaging ecosystem on-site.
