Boys Town Highlights the Power of Permanency During National Adoption Month
Empowering families to make a lifelong impact through Boys Town’s Foster Family Services program
Boys Town, Neb. (Nov 1, 2025) — Every child deserves a safe, stable, and loving home. That’s the message Boys Town is sharing this November during National Adoption Month. Across the country, thousands of children in foster care are waiting for the chance to be adopted and to experience security and belonging every child needs to thrive.
Through its Foster Family Services® program, Boys Town helps connect children with caring families who can provide guidance, love, and stability. The organization recruits, trains, and supports foster parents who are dedicated to helping children heal from trauma and build brighter futures.
“Adoption and foster care are more than temporary solutions, they’re lifelines,” said Matt Priest, Director of Boys Town’s Foster Family Services program. “When a child finds permanency, they gain more than a home, they gain a family, consistency, and the chance to truly thrive.”
Boys Town provides foster and adoptive families with ongoing training, 24/7 support, and access to behavioral health experts to ensure they have the tools and resources needed to care for children who’ve experienced trauma or instability.
The need for foster and adoptive parents continues to grow nationwide. Boys Town’s mission is to ensure every child is raised in a family-like setting, not an institution, whenever possible. In the past year alone, Boys Town has helped connect hundreds of children with safe, loving homes. Many finding their forever families through Boys Town’s network of dedicated foster parents.
This National Adoption Month, Boys Town encourages individuals and families to consider becoming foster or adoptive parents. Interested applicants must be at least 21 years old, financially stable, and able to provide a safe, nurturing environment for a child. Both single adults and couples are welcome to apply.
“Becoming a foster or adoptive parent isn’t about being perfect — it’s about being present,” said Priest. “Even one caring family can make a lifelong difference. When you open your heart and your home, you change the trajectory of a child’s life.”
