PetSmart Donates 1,250 Stuffed Animals to Boys Town as Christmas Gifts

PetSmart is dedicated to helping brighten the holiday season for the girls and boys at Boys Town. For the fourth year, PetSmart teamed with Boys Town and donated stuffed animals as Christmas gifts.

“Our West Maple PetSmart team was overjoyed to team with Boys Town for the 2020 Chance and Friends donation drive," said Martin Weverka, PetSmart Store Leader. “We tallied around 350 toys donated by our loyal Pet Parents, many of whom make it a yearly tradition to make a donation."

In addition, the two other local PetSmart stores donated another 800 stuffed animals for a grand total of 1,250 gifts! The stuffed animals were handed out over Christmas to Boys Town youth, patients and children and families in North and South Omaha who receive Boys Town's In-Home Family Services.

PetSmart is committed to giving to worthy charities like Boys Town.

“We start the donation process in October and carry on until our supplies are exhausted," Weverka said. “As a company, the PetSmart Charities program received over 2 million nationwide donations for 2020. “

PetSmart was especially pleased to see the Boys Town kids' reactions and words of gratitude for the stuffed animal gifts.

“We got a kick out of seeing your residents display their toys in your Light the Town video," Weverka said. “It's reassuring to us to know that we helped play a role in someone's Christmas this year."

PetSmart is looking forward to working along side Boys Town in the future.

“Pairing with Boys Town allowed us to reach a big part of the community, “Weverka said. “Many of us have had interactions with Boys Town in some form or manner. Thank you again for your efforts to make the donation drive a success."
