In recognition of Men’s Health Week and the days leading up to Father’s Day, Boys Town Nevada made a dedicated effort to raise awareness around men’s mental health. The team joined ARC Las Vegas to discuss why this issue is so important and how the stigma surrounding mental health—especially among men—continues to prevent many from reaching out for help. There’s a common perception that asking for help shows weakness, but Boys Town is working to change that narrative.

As an organization that supports both young men and women, Boys Town Nevada focuses on building soft skills that encourage openness, empathy, and communication. Youth are encouraged to have daily conversations about their feelings, their experiences, and the questions they have—helping them build the confidence to express themselves and seek support when needed.

By normalizing these conversations early on, Boys Town hopes to create a ripple effect that extends to fathers, brothers, and entire communities. Raising awareness and promoting emotional well-being is key to helping more men feel comfortable asking for help—because mental health matters at every age.
