Even if you haven’t seen the trucks hauling away 4,000 loads of dirt, it’s hard to miss the 200-ton crane towering over the construction site around Boys Town National Research Hospital.
Both are signs of progress for the 254,000-square-foot expansion project, which will transform the future of childhood health at Boys Town.
Construction updates since the groundbreaking last November include:
- Entrance changes for Boys Town Hospital and Medical Clinics:
- The hospital entrance at 14000 Boys Town Hospital Road and medical clinics entrance at 14080 Boys Town Hospital Road are closed.
- Patients/families can use the entrance at 14040 Boys Town Hospital Road.
- New west parking lot is complete.
- Central utility plant is being built on the east side of hospital for critical utilities.
- Deep and shallow foundations are complete.
- The pit for the anechoic chamber has been poured.
- Slab-on-grade and steel erection are getting underway, which will form the buildings’ skeletons.
