Boys Town, in collaboration with the Archdiocese of Omaha, is pleased to announce that Father Jeff Mollner has been named Boys Town’s National Director of Mission and Spirituality. Father Mollner serves as Pastor at St. Bernadette Parish/Holy Ghost Parish in Bellevue, Nebraska, as well as Chaplain and spiritual counselor at Omaha Gross High School.

As Boys Town’s National Director of Mission and Spirituality, Father Mollner will be responsible for ensuring that Boys Town’s legacy as a faith-based organization continues. Father Edward J. Flanagan, who founded Boys Town, believed that faith, regardless of the religion one practices, is what enables youth and families to recover and find hope, healing, and peace in life.

“We are honored to welcome Father Mollner as Boys Town’s new spiritual leader,” said Kathleen Driscoll, Chair of Boys Town’s National Board of Trustees. “His experience working with youth has prepared him well to carry on Father Flanagan’s faith mission, and his impact will be felt across the organization.”

“It is a privilege for me to be joining Boys Town, an organization that I have long respected and admired,” said Father Mollner. “I feel called to work in youth ministries and I am honored to join those who have followed in Father Flanagan’s footsteps in spiritually guiding youth and giving them hope for tomorrow.”

“Father Mollner is an excellent choice to continue the spiritual leadership begun by Father Flanagan and to bring the light of faith to current Boys Town residents and staff,” said Archbishop George Lucas of the Archdiocese of Omaha. “The members of Immaculate Conception Parish on the Boys Town campus will find Father Mollner an experienced Pastor.”

Father Mollner is the sixth Catholic priest to serve as Boys Town’s guide for the individual faith journeys of its youth. Father Mollner has been a priest for 15 years and has worked with youth ministry at the grade school, high school, and collegiate levels.

“Boys Town remains focused on ensuring that the faith and spirituality of all of our youth continue to thrive for generations to come,” said Rod Kempkes, Chief Executive Officer. “Please join us in welcoming Father Mollner as he begins his new role of fostering Boys Town’s community of faith and in thanking the Archdiocese of Omaha for its guidance throughout this process.”

Father Mollner will begin his position at Boys Town on April 2nd.
