Boys Town Central Florida (BTCFL) held its first annual Youth Career Fair in conjunction with Child Abuse Prevention Month. The event, organized by BTCFL's Youth Advisory Board, was an invite-only affair aimed at showcasing the wide array of career opportunities available to youth in the Central Florida community.
The Youth Career Fair was designed to expose BTCFL's residential youth and carefully selected members of the community to the diverse career fields and job opportunities available within Central Florida. Traditionally, youth in foster care are limited to customer service and food industry jobs, and this event aimed to broaden their horizons by showcasing alternative career pathways.
BTCFL’s goal was to provide our youth with a glimpse of the exciting and varied career opportunities available to them in Central Florida. By hosting this Youth Career Fair, Boys Town hopes to inspire our youth to dream big and explore the endless possibilities awaiting them in the workforce.
This Youth Career Fair featured representatives from a wide range of industries, including healthcare, technology, education, and more. Attendees had the opportunity to speak one-on-one with professionals in their desired fields, participate in interactive demonstrations, and learn about educational and training programs to help them achieve their career goals.
