What Skills does Failure Teach my Child?

​We're socialized as parents to provide protection for our children, and to provide comfort, love, and support. And while this is a really important component of parenting, I think that it can also result in this instinct to rescue our kids from situations that they need to learn how to cope with.

And when we rescue our kids, then we run the risk of inhibiting their development of independent problem-solving skills, and coping skills, and their ability to ​self-soothe.​
