What can you do to assure them that everything will be all right even if you're unsure that it will?

What can you do to assure them that everything will be all right when you're not sure that it will? Well, I wouldn't lie to your kids. Kids are pretty smart. I would be honest with them and say, "Maybe things are going to be a lot different than they were before," and that you're not sure what's going to happen, but you are sure that you're going to be a family and they're going to be safe. Try to keep your routines the same, try not to get rid of routines because someone's left the home. If this is what dad used to do and the child likes that, keep that routine in the family. Children need that stability in their lives. So, it's important for you to make them feel safe by keeping routines and letting them know that you don't have all the answers, but you're always willing to talk to them and listen to them.
