How is Failing at School Helping my Child Succeed?

​Often times parents see the value in school. They see that getting good grades is what's going to make the rest of your life a little easier. And so they end up kind of really doing a lot of work for kids, a lot of work for teenagers, and helping them succeed in school when sometimes they need to fail.

They need to have the experience of having to retake that class or having to go in early and having to work to get that grade back up. Because when they do ​that, they start to put consequence with behavior. So if I decide not to do my homework on Thursday night, Saturday I might be spending a couple of hours doing homework.​
