How can I get my kids excited about going to school in the morning?

When kids tell you, "I don't want to go to school. School is boring" and then parents ask me, "Well, what can I do to make it more exciting for my kid to go to school?"  I say, "Sometimes, school isn't going to be this wonderful exciting place. I don't know we can promise them that school is going to be exciting. What I can tell you is to ask your kids, ‘What are you going to do today to make school more exciting and less boring? If you're boring, then maybe that's why you're bored.’” Maybe a good way for your child to look at it is, "What can I bring to school as far as being more engaged with a teacher?" And so I ask the kids at the end of the day, "What's the most important thing you've found out today and what was the thing that you really hated about what went on in school today?" So that I can find out what engages that child. And after a while of having those kinds of conversations, I can remind them in the morning about the thing they really love about school and what really ignites their energy about learning.
