Boys Town High School youth received a special surprise when Kenny Bell, University of Nebraska-Lincoln wide receiver, arrived to speak on Friday, March 6, 2015 at the Skip Palrang Auditorium.

While speaking to the youth, Bell reinforced the importance of community and self-pride. “It’s important you live your life the same on and off the field,” said Bell. “Take pride in yourself and in your community.”

Bell took his experience as a Division I college football player to teach the youth how beneficial it is to treat everyone with respect and to always put forth your best effort. “How you treat people and the connections you make are very important,” he said. “It’s important to remember that you can’t be a stud on the field or the court and then be lackadaisical in your everyday life.”

The Nebraska scholar athlete ended his speech by shaking each youth’s hand and introducing himself.
