Buy a Bird Thanksgiving Food Drive a Success

Boys Town New England delivered nearly 100 dinner baskets for the Buy a Bird Thanksgiving Food Drive.  Items were given to those served by Boys Town's Community Programs, that otherwise would go without a holiday meal for their families.

Blount Fine Foods donated turkeys, Table Talk contributed pies, and area non-profit Bags of Hope gave gift cards to purchase supplies.  Baskets were stuffed with food that included rice, soups, vegetables, and bread by the helping hands of Brown University student athletes.

“The response was great due in part to our generous donors," says Glenn Hofmann, Development Director, an organizer of the event.  “Holiday celebrations can be an overwhelming expense, and we were glad to contribute to deserving families with this project.  Every family deserves a meal on Thanksgiving, and we were able to provide that."

Thank you to everyone who donated funds or products to make the holidays brighter for our families.  The recipients were so grateful.  Your support means so much to the community we serve, and to us.
