Below are actual stories and notes the Hotline has received from callers. We receive hundreds of pieces of correspondence each year from parents and teens who reached out and found help at the end of the line. The Boys Town National Hotline, at 1-800-448-3000, is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

My name is Claire.
Earlier today, about 1 or 2 a.m., I spoke with I believe his name was Stan. Forgive me, I was tired and I just don’t remember.
But I wanted to say thanks for your helpline. Usually I am not the type to call help lines in the middle of the night. I have friends, a great family, a content life and I am not suicidal. But last night I was lonely and feeling overwhelmed with the recent medical findings. I just needed a friend to talk to. And you guys were there. I think about the other people who might really be hurting, really be in pain, and for them I am grateful for your program. Thanks for being there and you can count on my donation this year around Christmas time.

Enclosed in this card is a donation to say thank you. My husband and I have had a crisis situation on our hands the past year to year and a half and we have had to make many calls to the Hotline. Jordon was our angel who answered the first time and it has been through his guidance, care and knowledge, with the support of the other Hotline angels, that have helped us survive our rocky road. We truly appreciate everyone and thank you for being there for families like us. You are all wonderful and we truly want to let you know how you have helped us.
