Follow-Up Outcomes

The Boys Town National Research InstituteSM has completed Five-Year and Sixteen-Year Follow-Up Studies to measure the effectiveness of our Treatment Family HomeSM Program. The studies compared Boys Town residents with the U.S. Population at large.

Two significant results emerged:

  • Former Boys Town youth were nearly identical to the general population.
  • The longer kids stay in the Boys Town program, the more they improve.

These results are significant because of the severe behavioral, emotional and psychological problems youth experience when they are admitted to Boys Town. Upon completion of treatment, these youth problems have decreased dramatically. View the graph.

Boys Town empowers kids to make better decisions. The tremendous progress these troubled youth experience with us, and the strides they make after they leave, define the effectiveness of the Boys Town ModelSM.
