Boys Town National Research Institute (NRI)℠

The Boys Town National Research Institute (NRI)SM has been conducting research for more than 20 years. Our research ranges from evaluating specific intervention programs to discovering risk and protective factors related to child maltreatment, mental health and educational problems.

NRISM research scientists and analysts come from a variety of professional and academic backgrounds, have expertise in youth and family care and write extensively for scientific and professional publications. They collaborate with external scientists, practitioners and third-party experts to provide external validation of NRISM research methods. NRISM staff are focused on fulfilling six major initiatives:

  1. Maintaining Boys Town’s status as a research-based, cutting-edge child and family service organization.
  2. Expanding outcome data for all services and programs.
  3. Establishing an evidence-base for our In-Home Family ServicesSM, Foster Family ServicesSM and Common Sense Parenting® programs.
  4. Studying the Continuum’s effectiveness as it spreads across America.
  5. Identifying factors that enhance implementation of Boys Town’s services.
  6. Researching the intersection of Boys Town’s youth care and health care.
