Graduates Look to Bright Future

Six Boys Town Texas youth accomplished what many thought they would never have – earning a high school diploma.

For Dupre, Dominick, Douglas, Eddie, Elaine and Jamal, a bright future may have looked dim before they came to Boys Town, but now they are moving on to become productive and giving members of society. Dupre has joined the Army, Dominick will be joining the Marine Corps, Douglas is headed to begin a career in Fort Worth, Eddie and Jamal will both be attending college in the fall and Elaine will begin Vocational training. The accomplishments of these six youth and other Boys Town Texas youth haven’t gone unrecognized.

On June 4, Boys Town youth, foster families, volunteers, Development Committee members and board members, and teachers from the youths’ high schools gathered at the Boys Town Texas campus to honor the youths’ achievements with a picnic and awards ceremony.

Youths Amber and Nathan won Honor Roll Awards and David won the Citizenship Award for the community service he completed throughout the year. The Cooper Home was ecstatic when they won an award for having the best overall GPA. The six graduates were also given certificates for being positive role models and an example to all of what dedication to yourself and the Boys Town model can help you achieve.
