On May 28, Boys Town youth Kahli Fernandez of Belle Glade, Fla., was honored with a Congressional Recognition from Senator Nelson at the Annual League of Cities Gala for her recent leadership accomplishments at Boys Town High School in Omaha, Neb. "We are so proud of Kahli and the tremendous progress she has made," said Amy Simpson, Executive Director of Boys Town Florida - South Region.
Youth at the famed Village of Boys Town in Nebraska voted Fernandez as their 110th Vice Mayor. The 16-year-old says she hopes to show how great of a leader she can be. “I feel I can make a difference by being a leader and a role model for my peers,” said Fernandez.
