Community Kindness Brings Holiday Hope to Families

More than 560 kids had a reason to celebrate Christmas this year because of the generosity of individuals wanting to make a difference.

Boys Town South Florida provides In-Home Family Services (link to page) to more than 3,000 families each year, many of whom do not have the means to buy presents for their children. The annual “Hope for The Holidays” drive makes sure Christmas is brought to these families.

“The parents in our program are so touched that other people are thinking about them and their children,” said Jen Lee, Boys Town South Florida Support Services Coordinator and organizer of this year’s drive. “They receive the kindness of others in the community and they in turn want to give back in the future. It’s truly beautiful to see.”

Some of the highlights of the year include 400 bike helmets given by Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center and the Junior Leagues of the Palm Beaches, Jupiter First Church choosing to bring gifts for 150 kids this year, and a special visit from a biker group.
