Managing Youth in Short-Term Care
Four-Day Training (three- and five-day
training options available)
OVERVIEW
This training provides you with practical tools for dealing with troubled
juveniles. You will learn specific techniques to help your clients accept
responsibility and be respectful. Lecture, discussion and limited role-play
are used to teach you how to avert power struggles and promote skill development.
Current theories on youth development, the importance of basic life skills,
creating individual client goals, and increasing communication and teamwork
are highlighted.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND
This training is designed for any professional who deals with youth in
a transitional setting, including emergency shelters, secured and non-secured
detention centers, evening reporting programs, youth ranches and assessment
centers.
