Before and After School
Program - Training of Trainers
OVERVIEW
In-depth and comprehensive, this program gives you a complete curriculum for training your own before and after school staff and volunteers. Our training and technical assistance programs put into practice the standards set by the National School-Age Care Alliance, including methods of dealing with difficult youth behavior and creating outcomes-oriented service.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND
This training is designed for program administrators and supervisors working in before and after school programs, day camps and summer programs. Anyone who works with youth in a school-aged care environment-or is responsible for training those workers-will benefit.
BENEFITS OF ATTENDING
You learn how to implement and manage your own staff training and development program. This gives you control over how, what, where and when you train your staff and volunteers. It's also your chance to address the issues critical to your program's success. You will be able to implement a holistic program staffed by individuals who know how to cope with difficult behavior and to encourage character development in youth.
- You will be able to create age-appropriate curricula that emphasize life skills.
- You will be able to connect with kids and keep parents informed and involved.
- You will be able to address a child's recreational, educational and social needs.
- You will be able to supervise and monitor youth activities to keep your program running smoothly.
