Reading Is FAME®Overview
A four-course reading intervention program
The Boys Town Reading Center is at the forefront in research, design and implementation of programs to improve adolescent reading skills. Our goal is to reverse reading failure in young adults, and more than 7,490 teachers, administrators, special education coordinators and reading specialists use the Reading Is FAME curriculum. For their students, FAME means enhanced basic reading skills, expanded vocabularies, better comprehension, greater confidence and improved self-esteem. On average, each youth’s reading level is advanced by two grade levels.
The Reading is FAME program has been recognized by the National Education Association and the National Staff Development Council as an “example of a content-specific staff development program that increases student achievement!”
